Recent summers have frequently seen well below average rainfalls, which in turn have resulted in hose pipe bans.
In 2006, as early as 3 April, nearly 13 million people had restrictions on water use. Full hosepipe and sprinkler bans were put in place by:
- Southern Water (in its Sussex North, Sussex Coast, Sussex Hasting, Kent Thanet, Kent Medway and Isle of Wight water supply areas)
- South East Water
- Mid Kent Water
- Cholderton and District Water
- Sutton and East Surrey Water
- Thames Water
- Three Valleys Water
- Folkestone and Dover Water
To combat the bans why not consider the permanent installation of a borehole? Your Reparen Right allows you to extract up to 20,000 litres of water a day free of charge with no water abstraction licence required.
